Four options, and the free one is genuinely usable rather than a trial.
Free
Unlimited notes, folders and tags, the full editor, drawings, images and PDFs with search that finds the words inside them, voice recording, also from the iPhone Lock Screen without unlocking, note links and graph view, templates, your notes in Spotlight on iPhone and iPad, and locked notes encrypted with a password only you know. You can also make flashcards, quizzes, mind maps and slide decks by hand, and edit them, and open and use the mini apps in a note, though making one takes the AI. No account, no time limit. Version history, backups, import and export come with any paid plan.
Sync
Everything in Free, plus cross device sync for $4.99 a month: notes, drawings, attachments, tags, chats and settings stay in step between your laptop and your phone, with 10 GB of attachment storage. It lets you share folders and notes with other people on Sync or Pro, who can edit them or only read them; their edits merge with yours when the apps sync, and version history shows who changed what. Seeing each other type as it happens is live typing, which is Pro. Sync also brings version history and daily backups, which stay on each device rather than in the cloud, plus import, export and priority support. Nothing in it uses AI, neither Grape AI nor your own keys, so flashcards, quizzes, mind maps and slide decks are made by hand, as on Free, mini apps open and work but are not made or changed, and the iPhone widgets and the themes stay with Pro and Lifetime. It is the plan for someone who wants the same library on every device, shared where it needs to be, and nothing else.
Pro
Everything in Sync, sharing included, with 100 GB of attachment storage and live typing in shared notes, where the people in a note see each other type at a cursor with their name on it, plus Grape AI with no keys to manage: unlimited AI chat with the note agent, which also changes your settings and answers questions about Grape, and the agents you make, semantic search, voice transcription with speaker identification, including voice notes recorded from the Lock Screen, which Grape's servers transcribe while your phone stays locked, AI web search, images generated in the chat, AI flashcards, quizzes and mind maps, AI slide decks with pictures, AI mini apps in your notes, routines, where Grape AI or one of your agents does work on its own at the times you set on Grape's servers, the iPhone home screen widgets and the twenty-four themes, and the connection for ChatGPT, Claude and other AI apps. You can also bring your own API keys on Pro if you prefer a specific provider.
Lifetime
A one time purchase of $69 that unlocks AI chat with the note agent, which also changes your settings and answers questions about Grape, and the agents you make, semantic search, AI web search, voice transcription, Lock Screen voice notes included, memory and personalization, AI flashcards, quizzes and mind maps, AI slide decks, mini apps, infographics and AI images using your own API keys, along with the iPhone widgets, the twenty-four themes, version history, backups, import and export. Your devices stay in step through your own Dropbox or Google Drive, which Grape never sees. It does not include Grape AI, Grape Cloud or sharing, and the features that run on Grape servers rather than through a provider, speaker identification, Brainrot videos and routines, stay with Pro. If you already pay for an AI provider, this is usually the cheaper path. The Sync plan is not sold on top of Lifetime: if you later want sharing or Grape AI, Pro adds them to what Lifetime already has, and your devices sync through Grape Cloud while it runs.
Choosing
Want your notes on every device, or to share them with other people, and no AI, take Sync. Want sync, Grape AI with no keys to manage, and to see the people you share with type as it happens, take Pro. Have your own keys, mostly want to chat with your notes, search them, study from them and present them, and are happy to keep your devices in step through your own Dropbox or Google Drive, take Lifetime. Not sure yet, stay on Free for as long as you like, and see Set up AI for what the AI setup looks like on each path.
