A brainrot video is your note as a short vertical video: Grape writes a script from the note, has a voice read it out and burns the captions over a gameplay clip, word by word. It is rendered on Grape servers, so it is part of Grape Pro rather than Plus or Lifetime.
Creating one
Open the note. On desktop, type / and choose Brainrot. On mobile, open the apps group on the toolbar above the keyboard. A chip lands in the note; click or tap it and the setup opens.
The four choices
- Voice picks the narrator, six of them, each with a sample you can play before choosing
- Background is the gameplay clip behind the captions, forty to choose from, each with a still frame so you can see what you are picking
- Caption style is the look of the words, twenty one of them, from TikTok classic to neon to retro VHS
- Caption position puts the words at the top, the middle or the bottom of the clip
Your last combination is remembered, so the next video opens on the setup you already picked.
While it generates
Six steps run in order: understanding the note, writing the script, narrating it, timing the captions, rendering the video and saving it. Rendering is the long one, and it happens on Grape servers rather than on your device.
So you can close the setup while it works. The card in the note says Making your video, the server keeps rendering, and Grape tells you when the video is ready, on a phone even with the app closed. See Get notified when the AI is done.
Watching it
Open the chip to play the video in the note, at 1x up to 2x speed. The finished video stays attached to the note it came from, so it is there the next time you open it, and it travels with your notes when they sync.
Regenerating
The video mirrors the note at the moment you generate. If the note has grown, generate again. Deleting the chip from the note deletes the video with it.
Getting a better video
The script comes from your note, never from a template, so a note with a clear argument makes a video that teaches something. A wall of abbreviations makes a video about abbreviations. The PDFs in the note count too: Grape reads them on your device and sends what they say with the note, never the files.
The other two
For something to read rather than watch, the same note can become an infographic, and for a room to sit through, a slide deck.
