Every note quietly keeps its own history, so recovering last Tuesday's paragraph does not need a backup.
How versions are saved
A few seconds after you stop typing, if the content actually changed, Grape saves a version. The AI also saves one before it edits a note, so any agent change can be rolled back. Each note keeps its most recent fifty versions.
Viewing history
Open the note menu and choose Version History. Versions are listed by time, and selecting one shows a full preview, including flashcards, quizzes and mind maps as they were.
Restoring
Restore replaces the current content with the version you selected. Restoring is itself a change, so the content you replaced becomes the newest version, and nothing is ever lost by looking.
Turning it off
Version history is on by default and controlled in Settings under Notes. It stays on for most people; the toggle exists for the rare library where storage is tighter than history is valuable.
History or backup
Version history is per note and recent. For whole library recovery or anything older than fifty changes, use backups.
