Grape CLI
Read and write your notes from the terminal
Open a terminal. Your notes are one command away.
Install the Grape CLI and sign in once, and you, a script or an AI agent like Claude Code, Codex or Cursor can list, search, read and write your notes from a terminal. What it writes shows up on your laptop and phone. On the Pro plan.
1Make a note from the terminal
2The note is waiting in Grape
One install, npm install -g @grapecool/cli, on Mac, Windows and Linux with Node.js 20 or later
List, search, read, write and add to notes, and make, rename and move folders
Every command prints JSON with --json, and exit codes a script or an agent can branch on
You sign in once in the browser, and a delete only moves a note to Recently Deleted
Sign in once
Run grape login, choose Allow on grape.cool and the terminal finishes by itself. The sign in renews itself.
Made for AI agents
Ask Claude Code, Codex or Cursor in your own words, and it runs grape to find, read and save your notes.
JSON for scripts
Add --json to any command and only JSON reaches stdout, ready for jq or the next step of a script.
Notes from anywhere
Write a note in markdown from the command, from a file or from a pipe, like pbpaste | grape notes create.
Nothing is erased for good
A delete moves the note to Recently Deleted, and replace stops before it would remove a drawing or a deck.
Locked notes stay out
A locked note is sealed on your devices, so the CLI never lists, reads or changes it.

What Else Grape Does
Every part of the app is built around the same idea: keep what you write, and hand it back when you need it.
Your Notes Are Worth More Than You Are Getting Out of Them
Download Grape, point it at a folder, and see what one week of notes looks like when you can ask them questions.
