Let the AI search the web

When the assistant can reach the internet, and which setups support it.

Your notes know what you know. Web search lets the assistant fill in the rest without you leaving the app.

Asking for it

Just ask naturally: search the web for the current rates, find recent reviews of this tool, check what changed in the latest release. The chat shows a searching step while it looks and folds the results into its answer.

What powers it

Web search runs on Grape AI or on an OpenAI key. If your enabled provider is neither, the assistant answers from your notes and its own knowledge, and web lookups are unavailable until you enable one of those two.

Mixing notes and the web

The useful pattern is combining the two: compare my pricing note with what competitors currently charge, or update my reading list note with this author's newest book. Your notes stay the source of truth, the web fills the gaps.

Verifying

Web results are fetched live and summarized by a model, so for anything that matters, ask for the sources and check the link before you act on it.

Try It While the Guide Is Open

Grape is free to install and needs no account, so you can follow along in the real app.
