A slide deck is your note as a presentation. You can build one yourself on every plan, Free and Sync included, starting from a blank deck. Having the AI write it from the note is part of the Plus, Pro and Lifetime plans, on Lifetime through your own API key: a title slide, a section slide wherever the note changes subject, bullets short enough to read from the back of a room, and a closing slide with the two or three things to remember. Pictures for the slides are drawn by the image model you switched on in Settings under Models: Grape Pro Image Model on Pro, or a model on your own key on Plus, Pro or Lifetime. However a deck was made, you edit, present and export it the same way.
Creating one
Open the note. On desktop, type / and choose Slide deck, or use the toolbar. On the phone, open the apps group in the toolbar and tap Slide deck. A chip appears in the note; click or tap it and the setup opens. The AI writes the deck from the note and from what the PDFs in it say, so a paper dropped into a note can become its talk. Start a blank deck, next to Create slide deck, opens an empty one to write instead.
The four choices
- Template is the look: minimal, colorful, hand drawn, corporate, dark or retro
- Slides is how many to aim for, from six to eighteen. A note that cannot honestly fill that many gets fewer good slides rather than padding
- Tone is how the deck should sound: teaching, pitch, briefing or casual
- Generate images draws a picture for the slides that suit one, with your image model. A quote slide never gets a photograph behind it
Grape remembers the last combination you picked.
Making one by hand
On Free and Sync, the setup asks only for the template. Pick one and choose Start a blank deck, or Let AI make it from your note to see what the Plus and Pro plans add. On Plus, Pro and Lifetime, Start a blank deck sits beside Create slide deck on desktop and under it on the phone, and takes the template you picked.
A blank deck starts with a title slide named after the note and a bullet slide, and opens with the words of the first slide ready to type. Build the rest with the buttons under the slide:
- Add slide puts a new slide after the one you are on. Pick its layout: Title, Section, Bullet points, Two columns, Quote or Closing, then write its words
- Edit text swaps the slide for its words as fields: the deck's template and the slide's layout at the top, then the title, the subtitle, the points, the quote and who said it, whichever the layout has. Add point and the cross beside a point add and remove points, and Done takes you back to the slide
Pictures on the slides still come from an image model: Grape Pro Image Model on Pro, or one on your own key on Plus, Pro or Lifetime.
Editing the slides
The slide is a canvas rather than a form. Double click a line on desktop, or double tap it on the phone, to rewrite it in place. Drag any part of the slide to move it, and delete a selected part to take it off the slide. Reset layout puts everything back where the template had it. Add slide and Edit text work on every deck, the ones the AI wrote included, and on every plan. Pictures arrive a few seconds after the words and slot into the slides that asked for them.
You can close the deck while its words are written or its pictures are drawn. The card in the note shows it is still working, the pictures keep landing, and Grape tells you when the deck is ready, see Get notified when the AI is done.
On desktop, drag the thumbnails in the rail to reorder the deck. On the phone, hold a thumbnail and drag it, and use the dots on a thumbnail to delete a slide.
Presenting and exporting
Present opens the deck full screen. Click or tap the sides of the screen to turn the page, and turn the phone on its side for a landscape slide. Export PDF prints one slide a page at the size the slide was drawn at; on the phone the PDF goes to the share sheet.
Where the deck lives
The deck syncs between your devices the way flashcards do, so a deck written on the laptop opens and presents from the phone. A deck you built by hand syncs, backs up and exports exactly like one the AI wrote. Pictures drawn by Grape are fetched onto each device the first time the deck is opened there; a picture drawn with your own image model stays on the device that drew it. Deleting the chip from the note deletes the deck on the next sync.
The other tools
The same note can become an infographic to read or a Brainrot video to watch. To study it rather than present it, make flashcards, a quiz or a mind map, by hand on any plan or with the AI.
