Sort and group your notes

Choose the sort field and order, and group the list into Today, Yesterday and older sections.

The note list order is yours to set, and the setting applies everywhere.

Choosing the sort

Open Settings and go to the Notes tab. Sort notes by lets you pick the date edited or the date created, and Sorting order flips between newest first and oldest first.

Grouping by date

The Group notes by date toggle splits the list into sections: Today, Yesterday, Previous 7 Days, Previous 30 Days, then months. With it off you get one flat list. Pinned notes sit at the top either way.

Which sort to pick

Date edited keeps whatever you are working on near the top, which suits most people. Date created behaves like a journal, which suits meeting notes and daily logs where the day it started matters more than the day you fixed a typo.

Where the setting lives

It is an app wide preference rather than a per folder one, and it syncs across your devices with the rest of your settings if sync is on.

Try It While the Guide Is Open

Grape is free to install and needs no account, so you can follow along in the real app.
