Shared folders and notes for writers
Share notes and folders and write in them together
Share a folder. Write in it together.
Invite people to a folder or a note and work in it from your own Grape. Sharing comes with Sync and Pro, and on Pro you see each other type, with a named cursor for each person.
Share a folder with its subfolders and notes, or a single note on its own
Can edit for the people you work with, Can view for the ones who only read
Edits merge, so two people in the same paragraph never overwrite each other
On Pro, everyone in the note types live, each with a cursor that carries their name
On Sync, edits arrive with sync a couple of seconds later and merge the same way
You and everyone you invite need Sync or Pro, and a locked note is never shared
Invite by email
Type an address, choose Can edit or Can view and send. They join from the email or from the app.
See each other type
On Pro, everyone in the note writes live, with a cursor in their own colour that carries their name.
Can edit or Can view
Editing for the people you work with, reading only for the ones who just need to keep up.
On Sync, edits merge
Changes arrive a couple of seconds after they are made, and both sides are kept rather than overwritten.
See who changed what
Version history lists every edit under the name of whoever made it, with what they added and deleted.
Your undo stays yours
In a live note, undo takes back what you typed and never the line someone else just wrote.
In short
Three things a notebook should have always done
Not features so much as relief. What changes when nothing you wrote can go missing.
1.
The line you need is in the other notebook, or a text to yourself.
Nothing gets lost between notebooks
Every fragment lands in one library, on the laptop and the phone, and search finds it by what it was about.
2.
The scene arrives on the walk and is gone by the time you reach the desk.
Talk the scene out when typing is too slow
Record on a walk and read the transcript back as raw material for the next session.
3.
You cannot tell whether the thought is new or something you wrote in 2019.
Ask your own archive what you already said
Check whether a thought is new or something you wrote three years ago, without opening twenty files.
A writing day
What that looks like for writers
Three moments where the notebook does its quiet work.
01
First thing in the morning
Open the draft where you left it, with the research notes linked next to it.
02
Walking around
Record thirty seconds of dialogue on the phone before it evaporates.
03
Structural edit
Ask for a summary of what each chapter note actually covers and move things around.

What Else Grape Does
Every part of the app is built around the same idea: keep what you write, and hand it back when you need it.
Questions
Questions Before You Install It
The rest of them live in the help center.
- Will the AI rewrite my work?
- Only if you ask it to. Grape does not touch your text on its own. Chat, summaries and search read your notes, and every edit an AI makes is a normal note change you can roll back through version history.
- Can I work entirely offline?
- Yes. Writing, organising, recording and exporting all work with no connection. Only the AI features need the internet, or a local model if you prefer.
- What is Grape, in one paragraph?
- Grape is a note app for Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone and Android with AI built into the middle of it rather than bolted on the side. You write, record and collect things the normal way, and then you can search by meaning, ask questions about your own notes, and turn any note into a summary, a set of flashcards, a quiz or a mind map.
- What makes it different from other note apps?
- Most note apps treat AI as an extra panel. In Grape the agent works on your workspace: it can read, create, edit, move, tag and delete notes, and every answer points back to the note it came from. Semantic search, voice transcription, flashcards, quizzes, mind maps and the drawing canvas all live inside the editor rather than in separate tools.
- Where do my notes actually live?
- On your device, in a local database, and you can choose where that file sits. Nothing needs to leave your machine for the app to work. If you turn on sync with a Sync or Pro plan, your notes are also stored in the cloud so your devices can stay in step. On Lifetime they sync through your own Dropbox or Google Drive instead, and Grape never sees them.
- Do I need an account to use it?
- No. Download the app and start writing. You only need an account for the paid plans, which is where cross device sync and built in AI come in.
Find it when you need it.
Fragments, research, scenes and three unfinished drafts in one place, with search that works on meaning so nothing you wrote at midnight disappears forever.
