The chat is also an agent with hands. You ask in plain language, and it carries out the steps.
What it can do
Create, update, move, tag and delete notes. Create, rename, reorganize and delete folders, including subfolders. Search your library, search the web, back up your data and empty the recently deleted folder. Ask for something like collect this week's meeting notes into a summary and file it under the project, and it does each step, showing its progress as it works.
Edits are surgical
When the agent edits a note, it works section by section rather than rewriting the whole thing, so the parts you did not ask about stay exactly as you wrote them.
The safety net
Two layers protect you. The agent saves a version of a note before editing it, so version history can roll back any change. Before bigger changes it also creates a backup, which shows up in Settings under Backups labeled as taken before an AI change.
Watching it work
Each step is shown as it happens, with the note and folder names it is touching, so an answer is never a black box. If it is doing the wrong thing, stop it and rephrase.
Trust, but scope it
The agent is careful, but clear asks get clean results. Name the folder, name the timeframe, and say what should happen to the originals when you ask it to reorganize.
