All the usual text formatting is here: bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, three heading levels, quotes, bulleted and numbered lists.
On desktop
Three ways, and you can use any mix of them:
- Markdown shortcuts as you type:
#for a heading,-for a list,>for a quote,**bold**and*italic*. - The slash menu, by typing
/on an empty line. - Toolbars. A fixed toolbar in the editor header and a floating toolbar that appears when you select text. Both can be turned on or off in Settings under Editor, see Customize the editor toolbars.
On mobile
Open the Text group, the first button on the toolbar above the keyboard. It expands into bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, the three headings, paragraph, bullet list, numbered list, quote and horizontal rule. Select text first to style what you selected, or toggle a style and keep typing.
Turning one block into another
Formatting is not locked in. Put the cursor in a paragraph and pick a heading style to convert it, or select several lines and turn them into a list in one step.
