Restoring replaces the current library with the contents of a backup. It is the recovery move for a bad import, an over enthusiastic reorganization, or moving to a new machine.
How to restore
Open Settings, go to the Backups tab, open the menu on the backup you want and choose Restore. Grape warns you what is about to happen, restores, and reloads the app with the backup's content in place.
The safety net
Before any restore, Grape automatically backs up the current data first. So even a restore you immediately regret can itself be undone by restoring that safety backup.
Restoring with sync on
The restored library becomes the truth and re-syncs to the cloud, so your other devices converge on it too. Notes keep their original dates through a restore, so your timeline stays honest.
Choosing which backup
The list shows each backup's time, size and kind: automatic, manual, before an AI change, before the last restore. When recovering from a mistake, pick the newest backup from before the mistake, not simply the newest one.
