# Take the note. Grape does the rest.

> Grape is an AI note app for Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone and Android. Record it, write it, then ask your own notes for the answer.

Record the meeting, dump the idea, sketch the thing you cannot explain yet. Then ask your own notes a question and get an answer instead of a list of search results.

## Three things that stop being a problem

### Stop hunting for the note you know you wrote

Search by what you meant. The half remembered line comes back in about a second, even when you never used those words.

### Leave the room with the notes already finished

Hit record, keep talking, and the transcript is sitting in the note before the next thing on your calendar starts.

### Get something usable out of what you already wrote

Ask for a summary, a checklist or a set of flashcards and it comes back built from your notes, not from the internet.

## Sixteen things that change how the week goes

### Ask your notes. Get an answer.

Grape has an agent, not just a chat box. It reads the workspace you already built, answers with the line you wrote, and carries out the tidying you ask for.

- **Summaries from your own words** A week of meeting notes becomes three bullet points you can send on.
- **Tidying stops being your job** Ask it to file the loose notes into folders and add the tags you already use.
- **Web search in the same chat** When the answer is not in your notes, it can look it up and write it in.
- **Ask a whole folder at once** Point it at a project and it reads every note in there before it answers.
- **Keep the answer as a note** The plan it just wrote lands in the folder you name, ready to work from.
- **The model is your call** Grape AI on Plus and Pro, or your own key for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Ollama and more.

### Tell it once. It remembers.

The agent keeps a short list of lasting facts about you: your name, your job, the thing you are building, how you like your notes written. It reads that list in every chat, so you stop introducing yourself to your own notes.

- **Facts caught on the way past** Say you run a bakery while asking about customers. The bakery is kept and the question is answered.
- **Read it, fix it, delete it** The whole list lives in Settings under Personalization, as sentences rather than a black box.
- **Forget is a real command** Say forget that in the chat and the memory is deleted, not hidden.
- **Off means off** Turn memory off and no memory text goes out with a chat, on any device.
- **The phone knows what the laptop learned** Memories travel with your settings, so with sync on there is one list on every device.
- **Replies already in your voice** With your base style and standing instructions, the answer arrives the way you would have written it.

[More about memory](https://grape.cool/memory)

### Find it by meaning, not by memory.

Every note is indexed as you write it. Search for the pricing thing we argued about and the right note comes back, even though none of those words are on the page.

- **No naming convention to keep up** Your filing can be a mess. Search reads what the note is about.
- **Best match first** Results are ranked by how close they are to what you described.
- **Folders and tags when you want them** Structure helps, it is just no longer the only way back to a note.
- **Indexed as you type** A note is findable by meaning the moment you stop writing it.
- **The same search on your phone** The thing you half remember is one tap away from the note list.
- **The agent searches the same way** Chat finds the right notes with it before it writes you an answer.

[More about semantic search](https://grape.cool/search)

### Say it out loud. Keep it in writing.

Record straight into a note on your laptop or your phone. Grape transcribes it, so an hour of talking ends up as text you can search, quote and ask questions about, and on Pro it tells the speakers apart, so a meeting reads back as who said what.

- **Capture on the move** Talk into your phone on the walk back and read it at your desk.
- **Transcript and notes together** Your own scribbles sit above the transcript, in the same note.
- **Searchable the moment it lands** An hour of audio becomes text you can find six months later.
- **Who said what** Split a meeting by speaker, type in the names, and it reads like the conversation it was.
- **Audio from anywhere else** Drop in a recording you made elsewhere and it gets the same transcript.
- **Ask the transcript questions** Pull the decisions and the follow ups out of an hour of talking.

### Revise without making the cards.

Turn any note into a deck and review it inside the app. The cards come from your own material, so you are drilling the version you were actually taught.

- **The slow part is done for you** Writing the cards is what stops most people revising. Not anymore.
- **Ten minutes is enough** Short review sessions on the phone beat one long night before the exam.
- **Straight from your notes** No stranger on the internet deciding what matters in your course.
- **Review wherever you are** The deck is on your phone, so the bus ride home counts as a session.
- **Decks follow you across devices** Start on the laptop and finish on the phone on any paid plan.
- **Every card knows its note** A card you keep missing takes you back to the paragraph behind it.

[More about flashcards](https://grape.cool/flashcards)

### Find the gaps before somebody else does.

Grape writes a quiz from your note and adjusts to how you answer, so the questions get harder where you are solid and stay on the parts you keep missing.

- **Reading is not knowing** A quiz shows you the difference in about two minutes.
- **Targets the weak spots** Answers you miss come back around, the ones you know do not.
- **One note, one quiz** No question bank to build and no separate app to keep in sync.
- **Ten questions, not a hundred** Short enough to run before a lecture, long enough to tell you something.
- **Practice in a queue** The quiz is on your phone, so five spare minutes becomes revision.
- **Straight back to the note** Every question points at the line it came from, so you can go and reread it.

[More about adaptive quizzes](https://grape.cool/quizzes)

### See how one topic hangs together.

Grape turns a note into a map of its own ideas, so a wall of text becomes branches you can follow. Useful when you are revising, and useful when you are still working out what you think.

- **Structure you cannot see in prose** Long notes hide their shape. A map puts it back on the surface.
- **Revision that is not rereading** Walking a map is a different pass over the same material.
- **Built from your note, not a template** The branches come from what you wrote, in your own words.
- **Follow one branch at a time** Open the part you are stuck on and leave the rest folded away.
- **A real map on a small screen** Pan and zoom on the phone instead of squinting at a picture of it.
- **The map stays with the note** It sits in the note it came from, ready the next time you open it.

[More about mind maps](https://grape.cool/mind-maps)

### The note, as a video you cannot skip.

Grape writes a short script from the note, has a voice read it out and burns the captions over a gameplay clip, word by word. Under a minute of the format that holds attention, made from the material you actually have to know.

- **The format that gets watched** Vertical video, a voice narrating, captions landing on the beat.
- **Pick the voice and the world** Six voices over forty clips, so two notes never make the same video.
- **Captions with a look** Twenty one caption styles, from TikTok classic to neon to retro VHS.
- **The script is your note** Written from what you wrote, so the video teaches your material.
- **Under a minute** Long enough to cover a topic, short enough to actually watch twice.
- **Saved in the note it came from** The finished video sits with the writing, ready to replay or send on.

[More about brainrot videos](https://grape.cool/brainrot)

### The note, redrawn as a poster.

Grape reads the note, plans a layout and has an image model draw it: the title at the top, your sections as panels, the numbers as a chart. One picture that says what the note says, ready to insert back in or export to share.

- **A style for the audience** Corporate for the deck, hand drawn for the class, dark for the feed.
- **The shape the channel needs** A tall scroll for a phone, a landscape for a slide, a square for a post.
- **Made to leave the app** Export the poster and hand it to someone who will never read the note.
- **Your sections become panels** The layout is planned from the note, so the poster keeps your order.
- **Numbers turn into a chart** The figures in the note get drawn rather than listed again.
- **Straight back into the note** Insert the poster where the writing is, or keep both and choose later.

[More about infographics](https://grape.cool/infographic)

### The note, ready to present.

Grape reads the note and writes the deck: a title slide, a section for each turn the note takes, bullets that are fragments rather than sentences, and a closing slide with the three things to remember. Six templates, pictures drawn for the slides that suit one, edit any word on the slide itself, then present it full screen or export it as a PDF.

- **Written in the order you would say it** A title, sections where the note changes subject, and a closing slide of takeaways.
- **Edit on the slide, not in a form** Double click a line to rewrite it, drag a part to move it, hide what does not belong.
- **Pictures where they help** Grape draws a picture for the slides that suit one and leaves a quote alone.

[More about slide decks](https://grape.cool/slide-deck)

### See the whole library at once.

Graph view maps every note and the links between them. It is the wide shot: the place where you notice you have written about the same thing five times in three different folders.

- **Connections you did not plan** Two notes from different months turn out to be about the same thing.
- **Links do the work** Link note to note as you write and the map fills itself in.
- **Where your attention went** Note stats show what you have actually been writing about.
- **Jump from the map into the note** Click a dot and you are reading the thing it stands for.
- **Clusters your folders missed** Notes filed in three places show up as one group on the map.
- **The wide shot of the library** Everything you have written, on one screen, at the same time.

[More about graph view](https://grape.cool/graph-view)

### Draw the part words cannot carry.

Some thinking is spatial. Grape has an infinite canvas that lives inside a note, so the sketch and the writing about it never end up in two different apps.

- **Diagrams without a second app** Boxes and arrows are two clicks away instead of a context switch.
- **Sketch, then explain underneath** The caption you write is what makes the drawing findable later.
- **Draw with a pencil in hand** Rough it out on the phone, tidy it up at the desk.
- **A block, not a separate file** Text above, drawing in the middle, more text underneath.
- **Legible at night as well** The canvas follows dark mode, so a late sketch still reads in the morning.
- **Drawings travel too** The sketch is on the other device with everything else on any paid plan.

[More about drawing canvas](https://grape.cool/canvas)

### Write it by hand. Ask it like text.

A handwriting note is a notebook of ruled pages for an Apple Pencil, and the writing on them is read back into words on the device itself, so a page you wrote in a lecture turns up in search and the agent can quote it.

- **Paper that behaves like paper** Pen, highlighter, eraser, shapes and text boxes on pages that stack the way a notebook does.
- **Your handwriting, searchable** The words are read off the page on the device itself, and nothing leaves it to do so.
- **The agent reads your pages** Ask what the lecture said on Tuesday and the answer comes from the ink.
- **Write on the slides** Import a PDF and annotate it page by page, then export the lot back out as one.
- **Page forty is a tap away** A navigator shows the whole notebook as thumbnails, with a page added or removed from there.
- **Open the notebook at the desk** The pages sync like any note and open in the desktop app, where you can add to them.

[More about handwriting notes](https://grape.cool/handwriting)

### Paint the app the way you like it.

A theme repaints the whole app: the page, the panels, the editor, the drawings and the paper of a handwriting note. Twenty-four come with the Plus, Pro and Lifetime plans, twelve light and twelve dark, and the pair you pick follows you to every device.

- **The palettes you already know** Nord, Dracula, Solarized, Catppuccin, Gruvbox, Rosé Pine, GitHub, One, Ayu, Everforest, Flexoki and Monokai, mapped onto every part of the app.
- **Paper, for long afternoons** A warm, low contrast page for reading and writing for hours without the glare of a white screen.
- **Midnight, for the small hours** True black, so an OLED screen switches its pixels off and the note is the only thing lit.
- **Drawings and paper follow** The canvas, the notebook pages and the automatic pen colour all take the theme with them.
- **Seventeen accents on top** Amber, teal, rose or any of the others, in the buttons and selections of whichever theme you are in.
- **The same look on every device** Pick Nord at the desk and the phone opens in Nord, with sync keeping both picks in step.

[More about themes](https://grape.cool/themes)

### Clip the page. Keep it as a note.

A Chrome extension that saves the page you are reading straight into the desktop app. The article arrives as a clean note with the ads gone, the images downloaded and a line under the title saying where it came from.

- **Three ways to take a page** The readable article, only the part you highlighted, or just the title and the link.
- **Filed before it lands** Pick the folder and the tags in the panel, or set a default once and never see it again.
- **The pictures come too** Grape downloads every image into the note, so it reads offline and after the page is gone.
- **It says where it came from** Site, author and date on one line under the title, with the original a click away.
- **Two keys and it is saved** One shortcut clips the page, another clips the selection, with no panel in between.
- **Nothing passes through a server** The page goes from the browser to the app on your machine, and nowhere else.

### Share it to Grape. It is a note now.

Grape sits in the share sheet on iPhone and Android. Send a page from Safari, a link from another app, or a photo, PDF or recording, and it lands as a note with the source written under the title.

- **Two taps from Safari** Tap share, tap Grape, tap Save. The page is a note before you are back in the browser.
- **See the note before it exists** The title and the body sit in fields you can correct, and what is there when you press Save is the note.
- **Filed on the way in** Choose the folder from the sheet, or skip it and find the page in your default folder.
- **More than pages** A photo, a PDF or a voice memo shared to Grape arrives as an attachment in the note.
- **The same note as the desktop clipper** A page shared from the phone and the same page clipped in Chrome read identically.
- **On the laptop by the time you sit down** With sync on, the page you saved from the bus is open in the desktop app.

## Everything Else It Does

- **Bring your own AI, or use ours** - OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Groq, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, Ollama, LM Studio and more.
- **Work with no wifi and no worry** - Your notes live in a database on your device. You choose where the file sits.
- **Your prompts, one keystroke away** - Save the instructions you use constantly and run them on any note.
- **Pick up where you left off** - Notes, drawings, decks, tags, chats and settings stay in step across devices.
- **Keep the sketch in the note it belongs to** - An infinite canvas inside the note for diagrams, wireframes and rough thinking.
- **Answers that need the web, in the same chat** - Grape can search the internet and drop what it finds into the note.
- **Keep the PDF next to your notes on it** - Drop PDFs into a note and write alongside. Search and the AI read what they say.
- **A daily backup you never have to remember** - Made automatically on the device you use and kept for thirty days.
- **Connect a note to the notes around it** - Link note to note, then see the whole web in graph view.
- **Find things in three keystrokes** - Nested folders, drag and drop, hashtags with autocomplete and pinned notes.
- **Move in from your old app in one go** - Import Apple Notes, Evernote, or a folder of Markdown, with the structure intact.
- **Write without fighting the editor** - Tables, checklists, images, files and slash commands for the rest.
- **Own the file, not a subscription to your own words** - No lock in. The database is yours, on disk, from day one.
- **Start the note already half written** - Save any note as a template, with date variables that fill themselves in.
- **Get back the paragraph you deleted** - Every note keeps a version history. Roll back to any earlier draft.
- **Record the call, not the room** - Desktop captures system audio, your microphone, or both in one track.
- **Change your mind about a delete** - Deleted notes wait in Recently Deleted, with their tags and history, on no timer.
- **Leave whenever you want, with everything** - Export a note or the whole library as Markdown, HTML or PDF.
- **See how much you actually wrote** - Note stats and writing insights across the whole workspace.
- **Say how you want answers once** - A base tone and standing instructions the assistant follows in every chat.
- **Read at two in the morning without the glare** - Twenty-four themes, light and dark, and a System mode that moves between your two picks.
- **Use it in the language you think in** - English, Español, Français, Português, Deutsch, Italiano, Türkçe and 日本語.

### The idea at the bus stop

Open the phone, talk for forty seconds, and find it waiting on your laptop when you sit down.

### The thing you definitely wrote down once

Describe it in your own words in search and let meaning matching do the remembering.

### The pile that never got sorted

Ask the agent to file the loose notes into folders and tag them, then check its work.

### The chapter you have to know by Friday

Turn the note into a deck and a quiz, and find out what you actually retained.

## Six Steps, About Ten Minutes

### 01. Download and open it

No account, no setup wizard, no workspace to design first. Choose where your notes live and start typing.

### 02. Bring your old notes across

Import from Apple Notes or Evernote, point Grape at a folder of Markdown files, or drag in the PDFs you keep reopening.

### 03. Put everything in one place

Type, paste, record, attach, clip a page from Chrome or share one from your phone. Folders and tags are there when you want them and out of the way when you do not.

### 04. Ask instead of scrolling

Open the agent and ask a question about your own notes. The answer comes back with the note it came from.

### 05. Turn notes into the thing you needed

A summary, a deck of flashcards, a quiz, a mind map, or a clean export to send to somebody else.

### 06. Put it on your other devices

Turn on sync and the same library shows up on your phone, while each device keeps its own daily backup.

## The Questions People Ask Before Downloading

### What is Grape, in one paragraph?

Grape is a note app for Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone and Android with AI built into the middle of it rather than bolted on the side. You write, record and collect things the normal way, and then you can search by meaning, ask questions about your own notes, and turn any note into a summary, a set of flashcards, a quiz or a mind map.

### What makes it different from other note apps?

Most note apps treat AI as an extra panel. In Grape the agent works on your workspace: it can read, create, edit, move, tag and delete notes, and every answer points back to the note it came from. Semantic search, voice transcription, flashcards, quizzes, mind maps and the drawing canvas all live inside the editor rather than in separate tools.

### Where do my notes actually live?

On your device, in a local database, and you can choose where that file sits. Nothing needs to leave your machine for the app to work. If you turn on sync with a Sync, Plus or Pro plan, your notes are also stored in the cloud so your devices can stay in step. On Lifetime they sync through your own Dropbox or Google Drive instead, and Grape never sees them.

### Do I need an account to use it?

No. Download the app and start writing. You only need an account for the paid plans, which is where cross device sync and built in AI come in.

### What does the free plan actually include?

Unlimited notes, folders and tags, the full editor with find and replace, pages, a choice of note fonts and line heights and focus mode on desktop, the drawing canvas, attachments and voice recording, from the iPhone Lock Screen too, plus flashcards, quizzes, mind maps and slide decks you make by hand, with no account and no time limit. Version history, daily backups, import and export come with any paid plan, and the AI features are on the Plus, Pro and Lifetime plans.

### What AI features are included?

AI chat with the agent that reads and edits your notes, semantic search across everything you have written, AI web search, voice transcription, images generated in the chat and put into a note, a note turned into flashcards, a quiz, a mind map, a slide deck or an infographic poster, and mini apps the AI writes into a note from a description, all on the Plus, Pro and Lifetime plans, along with memory and personalization. On Plus and Lifetime the poster and the images are drawn with your own image model. Flashcards, quizzes, mind maps and slide decks can also be made and edited by hand, on every plan. Pro also answers on the best Grape AI model with twice the allowance, draws the images and posters on the Grape image model, tells the speakers in a recording apart, turns a note into a short narrated video, runs routines: work Grape AI or your agents do on their own at the times you set, on Grape servers, and lets Grape AI and your agents work in the apps you connect, like Notion, Linear and Todoist.

### Can I use my own AI keys instead of paying for Grape AI?

Yes. Grape works with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Groq, DeepSeek, Grok, OpenRouter, Ollama and LM Studio, plus any OpenAI compatible endpoint you add yourself. Bring your own keys on the Plus, Pro or Lifetime plan, or use built in Grape AI on Plus or Pro and skip keys entirely.

### What can the AI do to my notes?

Only what you ask it to. It can create, read, update, move, tag and delete notes, make and reorganise folders, search your library, search the web, generate an image and put it in a note, and empty the recently deleted folder. Every one of those actions happens in your workspace, so you can undo it or roll a note back through version history.

### Does the AI remember things about me?

On Plus, Pro and Lifetime, yes. When you mention a lasting fact in chat, like your job or the thing you are building, the agent saves it as a short sentence and reads the list in every later chat. The list is in Settings under Personalization, where you can edit or delete any entry, and one switch turns memory off completely.

### Can ChatGPT or Claude use my Grape notes?

On Pro, yes. Grape has an MCP server, so ChatGPT, Claude and any other AI app that supports MCP can search, read, create, edit, move and delete your notes and folders once you connect it to your Grape account. A delete only moves a note to Recently Deleted, a locked note is never within its reach, and removing the connection in the AI app ends it straight away.

### Can I save web pages into Grape?

Yes. The Chrome extension clips the article you are reading, the text you highlighted or just the bookmark into the desktop app, with the images downloaded and the source noted under the title. On iPhone and Android, Grape is in the share sheet, so a page shared from Safari or any other app lands as the same kind of note.

### Can I share photos, PDFs or recordings to Grape from my phone?

On iPhone, yes. A file shared to Grape arrives as an attachment in a new note, in the folder you pick in the sheet. On Android the share sheet takes links and text.

### Can I get my notes out again?

On any paid plan, any time: export a single note or your whole library as Markdown, HTML or PDF. The underlying database is a file on your disk on every plan, so nothing holds your writing hostage.

### Does it work offline?

Writing, reading, organising, drawing and recording all work with no connection at all. The AI features need the internet, unless you point Grape at a local model with Ollama or LM Studio.

### Which platforms does it run on?

Desktop apps for macOS, including older Intel Macs, Windows, and Linux as a Debian package for x64 and arm64. Mobile apps for Android on Google Play and for iPhone on the App Store.

### What is the Sync plan?

Sync is the cheapest paid plan, at $3 a month, for people who want their notes on every device and no AI. It keeps notes, drawings, attachments, tags and settings in step across your laptop and your phone with 10 GB of attachment storage, lets you share folders and notes with other people on Sync, Plus or Pro, with their edits merging into yours when the apps sync, and brings import and export, plus version history and daily backups, which stay on each device rather than in the cloud. Nothing in it uses AI, hosted or with your own keys. Plus, at $9 a month, includes everything in Sync with 50 GB of storage and adds Grape AI, the iPhone widgets and the themes. Pro, at $19 a month, includes everything in Plus with 100 GB of storage and adds the best Grape AI model with twice the allowance, live typing in shared notes, speaker identification, Brainrot videos, routines and connected apps like Notion and Linear.

### What is the difference between Plus and Pro?

Both include everything in Sync and Grape AI with no keys to manage: the chat and the agent, memory, semantic search, web search, voice transcription, Lock Screen voice notes, AI flashcards, quizzes, mind maps, slide decks and mini apps, plus the iPhone widgets and the themes. Plus is $9 a month, answers on the standard Grape AI model and has about half the allowance of Pro, with 50 GB of storage. Pro is $19 a month, answers on the best model with twice the allowance and 100 GB of storage, and adds speaker identification, Brainrot videos, routines, connected apps like Notion and Linear, the pictures Grape draws for chats, slide decks and infographics, live typing in shared notes and the connection for ChatGPT and Claude. On Plus, images, slide pictures and infographics work with an image model on your own key.

### What is the difference between Pro and Lifetime?

Pro is monthly and includes Grape AI on the best model with no keys to manage, cross device sync through Grape Cloud, sharing with live typing, speaker identification, Brainrot videos and routines. Plus is the cheaper monthly plan, with the same Grape AI on the standard model, sync and sharing, and without the things drawn or run on Grape servers. Lifetime is a single payment that unlocks AI chat, the agent, search, transcription, memory and personalization, AI flashcards, quizzes, mind maps and slide decks, mini apps, infographics and AI images using your own API keys, plus the iPhone widgets and the themes, and keeps your devices in step through your own Dropbox or Google Drive. It comes without built in Grape AI, without sharing and without the things drawn on Grape servers.

### How does cross device sync work?

Sync is part of the Sync, Plus and Pro plans and it is off until you turn it on. Once it is running, notes, drawings, flashcards, quizzes, mind maps, mini apps, attachments, tags, chats and settings stay in step across every device you sign in on. Your local copy stays on each device, so everything still works offline. On Lifetime your devices sync through your own Dropbox or Google Drive instead: connect it in Settings under Cloud Sync on each device, and your notes go straight from your devices to your storage without passing through Grape.

### Can I bring notes in from another app?

Apple Notes and Evernote have direct imports, and so does a folder of Markdown files, which covers Obsidian, Bear and most other apps. Subfolders and Evernote notebooks come across as folders, and pasted Markdown keeps its formatting too.

### Does Grape have a drawing feature?

Yes. There is an infinite drawing canvas inside the note itself, with freehand drawing, shapes and dark mode. Sketches sit in the note next to the writing they belong with rather than in a separate file.

### Can I write by hand?

Yes, on an iPad with an Apple Pencil, and on a phone with a finger. Turn on Handwriting notes in Settings under Notes and the new note button offers a notebook of ruled pages. The writing is read back into text on the device, so a handwritten page turns up in search and the agent can read it, and the same pages open on the desktop app.

### What file types can I add to my notes?

Drag or paste images, audio files and PDFs straight into a note. PDFs render with page previews so you can read them in place, and Grape reads their text on your device, so search finds the words inside them and the AI answers from what they say. Audio can be transcribed with AI.

### Can I organise notes with tags?

Yes. Type a hash anywhere in a note and pick or create a tag, with autocomplete so you do not end up with three spellings of the same idea. Tags cut across folders, and the agent can read and create them for you.

### Does Grape keep a version history?

Yes. Every note keeps earlier versions on your device, never in the cloud, so you can roll back to any previous draft. Anything the AI changes is a normal note change, which means it can be rolled back the same way.

### Can I see how my notes connect to each other?

Yes. Link notes to each other and graph view maps the connections across the whole library. Individual notes can also be turned into a mind map, and note stats show how your writing is spread out.

### Can I paste Markdown into a note?

Yes. Pasted Markdown converts to rich text, with headings, lists, tables, horizontal rules and the rest of the usual formatting kept intact.

### How good is the transcription?

Good enough to search, quote from and work with, and worth checking before you publish a specific line. Names and technical vocabulary are the usual weak spots. On Pro a recording with several people in it can be split by speaker, with names typed in for the voices; it hands over at the end of a sentence, so read the handovers too.

### How long can a recording be?

There is no fixed cap. Grape cuts anything longer than four minutes into parts, sends a few at a time and stitches what comes back into one transcript. On Plus or Pro a single recording can run to about six and a half hours, and a month of Grape AI holds about 13 hours of transcription on Plus and about 33 hours on Pro. With your own OpenAI key the only limits are the ones your provider sets. Splitting a recording by speaker works on recordings up to about an hour and three quarters.

### What happens if I stop paying?

The app keeps working on the free plan and your notes stay exactly where they are, in the local database on your device. Export and backups are part of the paid plans, so take an export before the subscription ends if you want your notes as files.

### Can my team share a workspace?

Yes, a folder or a note at a time. On the Sync, Plus or Pro plan you share a folder, with its subfolders and notes, or a single note, and invite people by email to edit it or only read it; they join on one of those plans too. Edits from several people merge, so nothing is overwritten. On Pro the people in a note see each other type as it happens, each at a cursor with their name on it; on Sync and Plus the edits arrive when the apps sync.

### Can I delete everything?

Yes. You can wipe all local data from settings at any time. Because the database lives on your device, deleting it means it is gone, so take a backup first if you might want it later.

### Is Grape open source?

No. The source is not public, but nothing is locked in: the database is a plain file on your disk, and every paid plan exports the whole library as Markdown, HTML or PDF.
